IBM bought Ustream expand cloud AV career
United States computer maker IBM announced last week that it had bought off the Ustream video streaming service providers, making their cloud system more complete. Online video provider Ustream customer base includes United States Space Agency (NASA), the Korea Electronics giant Samsung Electronics, community sites, leading Facebook, sports goods giant Nike, Discovery Channel.
In addition, Ustream also offers more than 80 million users each month to watch live programming with your selected movie.
Although IBM did not disclose the purchase price and details of the Ustream, but Fortune magazine on Wednesday (20th) has been reported, according to people familiar with that, this acquisition amounted to approximately US $130 million.
IBM began selling lower-profit business previously, including lower-end hardware such as servers and semiconductor business, and moved to a more profitable cloud computing services, Smartphone security, data and other emerging business.
